that I can’t get through the month without….
Great time to make Sloe Gin for Christmas presents
450g sloes
200g caster sugar
1 drop of almond extract
1 litre of gin
Prick the sloes with a pin or put them in the freezer overnight so that they burst. Then put into a wide necked bottle and pour in the sugar, almond extract and gin. Shake and store for at least 2 months. If you remember, shake bottle once a week.
Start getting ready for Christmas - keep an eye out for offers at your local shops and stock up now for Christmas cakes and puddings

Spooky Break at The George Hotel
SPOOKY weekend at The George - 30th/31st October 2009, spend the Halloween weekend with us and join us for some delightfully frightful tales from the tomb. This is a two night break which will include an evening where we will gather at Fort Victoria and join in with Marc Tuckey from Island Ghost Tours - his team will terrify us with some haunting history of the island. When we are suitably terrified we will return to the George for a cocktail of Bullfrog Brew and some tasty Devilish Dining. The following day and evening we have left free for you to discover some of the islands hidden treasures at your leisure. There are some superb island walks or maybe a visit to Carisbrooke Castle etc.

EVENT OPTION
DEVILISH DINING & GHOST TOUR EVENING – Friday 30th October 2009.
We will meet at Fort Victoria at 6.30pm for a Bullfrog Cocktail – then join Marc Tuckey from Island Ghost Tours and his team for an hour or haunting island history – when we are suitable terrified we will return to the George for some Devilish Dining.
Arrive: 6.30pm at Fort Victoria, 7-8pm Ghost Tour then back to The George for Spooky Supper.
